Track Missile Corvette ZR1 Runs a Boost-only 8.57 Quarter-mile
Advanced Modern Performance has the world’s quickest Corvette ZR1, setting the bar very high with a trap speed of 160 MPH.
Since the tuning access of the new LT5 V8 was unlocked earlier this year, Advanced Modern Performance (AMP) has been a front-runner in the field of modifying the C7 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. Along with building some big-power machines, AMP ZR1s have been putting up big track numbers, but their shop car recently set the quarter-mile record for the new LT5-powered supercar, covering the quarter-mile in just 8.57 seconds at 160.25 miles per hour.
Corvette ZR5 Package Details
The Corvette ZR1 in the video above from the shop’s YouTube channel is fitted with the AMP ZR5 package, which adds a long list of high-performance upgrades, but there are some key components that are still stock on this car. The short block is stock, so the engine block, crankshaft, connecting rods, and pistons are all factory-issued parts. The same is true of the automatic transmission, the torque converter, the rear differential, and the axles.
