About Dry Carbon Fiber
Dry Carbon Fiber vs Wet Carbon Fiber — What’s the Difference?
Not all carbon fiber parts are made the same. Dry carbon fiber is produced from pre-preg carbon cloth with the exact resin ratio pre-applied, then vacuum-sealed and cured under high pressure and temperature in an autoclave — the same process used in motorsport and aerospace. Wet carbon fiber uses a hand-lay method where liquid resin is brushed over the cloth, trapping more resin and air, producing a heavier part with a less uniform finish.
Dry carbon is roughly 30–50% lighter than wet carbon and offers a much higher modulus of elasticity (~125 GPa). A true dry carbon piece looks identical front and back, with clean uniform black edges.
